Two from the book

Wed Feb 21, 2007, 7:18 AM
Here are two poems from the Heart of a Man book, which I posted the cover in the gallery. I hope ya'll like them.

Beautiful

Beautiful is called when I look at you,

Candy melon dewdrops can’t compare to the sweet taste of your lips,
Symphonies can’t hum out the song sung from your heart,
Stars in heaven can only mimic the glow from your bright smile,
Libraries can only fill one page within the history of your knowledge,

Beautiful is called when I look at you,

Doctors can’t study in school the magic of your healing touch,
Mirrors can’t reflect the serenity seen from your brown eyes,
Scales can’t measure the compassion from your lovely soul,
Clocks can’t judge the timeless love shared by a virtuous woman,

Beautiful is called when I look at you.

Significant Other

When you say you love me let the reason be love,

Not for the cars bought for you,
Not for the jewels hanging on your body,
Not for the money laced in your pocket,

When you say you love me let the reason be love,

Not for the good name added to you,
Not for the fame of my friends,
Not for the house covering our heads,

When you say you love me let the reason be love,

Love me for the strength found in a heart of gold,
Love me for a pure mind renewed by faith,
Love me for the honesty found in my soul,

When you say you love me let the reason be love.
